Dragonets: The context implies to me some kind of botanical reference, maybe a hanging plant or flower that grows near the water. I've found a couple of plants with similar names (it's hard to search with all those fish in the way) but none for sure that cover the place and time. Perhaps it could be a metaphorical reference to some other plant that is now obscure? Bearded irises grow in damp conditions and are sometimes known as dragonets
