Sometimes, I can't help but feel a sadness for all the things in computing history that had passionate people working on it but were suddenly cut short. Not because their ideas encountered insurmountable flaws, but because something else was good enough to go to market, or it could be made to scale infinitely on a short time span, or the community bitrotted away.
