Yeah, I know the perspective. It's sounds nice in theory but when you read the book and it straightforwardly says "Egypt will be eradicated by Israel's army" or "Israel will claim its rightful territory back from Edom" that doesn't fly. If it was all spiritual then you wouldn't need it hyper-specified in response to a specific situation at the time of its composition.
That method of interpretation isn't even natively Christian, they took it from the Stoics. It's a strategy developed to reinterpret the old Greek gods as virtuous even when they transparently weren't at face value. These hermeneutics exist as cope for when philosophy outgrows its own myths.
