(2/2) Once we got back home to the U.S. of A., we realized that “Piazzas” do not really exist, at least not in my hometown of #Eugene, #Oregon. Yes, there is a rare downtown bench, or a square that is occupied by homeless or Food Carts, but the nice peaceful place for that morning cappuccino or afternoon Spritz with friends is absent. And the closest thing we have to a Passeggiata is the senior citizens “mall walking” in our ghost town of a mall.
We live in silos. Italians live on their Piazza.
