Today's historic photo of the day: Melbourne Y1 class tram no 610 running an outbound route 70 service is nearing its outer terminus as it runs along Riversdale Road, Wattle Park, Vic, August 1 1987.
Whilst the Y1 class hadn't been used in regular service since the mid '60s, on this day they and a number of other stored tramcars were pushed into regular passenger service for a few days in place of modern trams that had developed faults and were not being repaired due to an industrial dispute.
