Charlie is pestering me, not that it is unusual because Charlie is a needy dog. When he is in the house, he wants to go out, when he's outside he wants to come in, and in between he begs for attention. Hmmm ... he gave up and is laid down next to my chair. I suspect he'll lay there quietly until I move and guess what, I need another cup of coffee.
Okay, I got my coffee and let Charlie outside. Now Ben is in here. Ben is a smaller dog and takes the opportunity to get attention when Charlie isn't around. Charlie is also a jealous dog. If I reach to pet Ben, Charlie will push his way in the to the petting zone.
