There's a difference between "having a right to exist", which is just a motte since that's not what anyone is talking about, and having a strong enough relationship to go to the mat for another site. KF has burnt those bridges, so while people might agree in theory that "they have a right to exist", no one is going to stick their necks out for them, and they only have themselves to blame for being in that situation.
