Having just experienced the NHS desire to discharge asap (my wife was discharged two days after cranial surgery), I can see why the desire to get people out of hospital once they have been 'dealt with' is both understandable from the NHS' end but a major problem where home care is limited or unavailable (luckily my wife returned to my care; for which I retired).

Organising post-operative home care is costly & just shifts the NHS crisis along to Councils...
