And…that's it. At long last, I've finished the first draft of this manuscript. It came in almost 10 percent longer than my goal, and took me roughly an additional six weeks (thanks in part to COVID and lack of childcare). There's a lot of work to be done on it before it even gets as far as my beta readers, and much more following that before it gets out in the world, but this first step is DONE. Phew.
