From watching https://www.willgudgeon.com/ (he's on YouTube), I've noticed that he covers the shutter with his hand, opens the shutter, removes his hand. After the shot - place hand over, close shutter. I hadn't thought about it before really, but I'd guess it could be to reduce the chances of moving the camera during the exposure?",
