The FIRST 3 STEPS YOU MUST TAKE WHEN STARTING YOUR renovation project.
Step One: Pick a project that you really want or need done and decide on a reasonable budget. Deciding on a budget will be different for everyone based on what you can afford and if need be how creative you can be with materials. If you have a big project, work on it in bite-sized pieces to avoid overwhelm and burnout.
Step Two: Based on your budget, gather all the materials you will need for your project. Will you need tools? Can you find a place to borrow or rent the tools needed? I love to repurpose, get items on sale, and take advantage of resale shops to keep costs low.
Step Three: Get to work! Depending on what and where your project is, you may want to protect your space to keep finished areas from getting damaged on needing extensive cleaning (ask me how I know).
Here are additional resources that I found useful!
-Kylie M Interiors webpage has a lot of great info about choosing paint colors!
-Pinterest, Instagram, and Google Image for project inspiration
-Habitat for Humanity Restore, Goodwill, Saint Vincent de Paul, and antique stores for used items
If you want help, encouragement, additional resources, or want to ask me more about my journey I’d love to connect with you! If you are on a similar journey, what would you add? Do you have any favorite resources not listed?
