I should also add that I know the brushes are two different sizes, the GSW brush being a #2 and the second-hand Grumbacher being a #0. I had read somewhere early in my hobby when looking for a good brush to invest in that you "only need" a #2 and a #00. Might break out the other two brushes from the GSW box that I haven't touched since I bought them - a #0 and a #1 - and see if those work just as well as this #0 I found.
