David Speers went all the way to Washington for a week to banter with a bunch of former Liberal politicians on November 5 - Arthur Sinodinos, Joe Hockey and Malcolm Turnbull if I remember correctly - followed four days later by a thirty minute speculative chat with two Australian journalists, and a pre-record with a US defence industry lobbyist.
Why, ABC? Why? What was the point of that costly and largely irrelevant exercise. (Unless platforming Liberal politicians and the US defence industry was the aim.)
Washington Bureau take a holiday? Speers wanted one on the public purse? Fucking bizarre.
