npub1lxpptev62epdcgl84g53dfef23h6d6xxktvha5t7t25sh9djy33q45qw7x (npub1lxp…qw7x) I think it is also that people tend to be afraid of what they aren't familiar with; it's probably a biological survival instinct that made sense thousands of years ago, but just causes problems today. In the US, for example, the more normalized they have made it to portray gay and lesbian characters on TV, the more people came to accept and understand LGB. I have personally seen a huge shift in my short lifetime so far of 43 years. I am hopeful that the more the rest of the letters (the TQIA2S+) become normalized in pop culture, the more used to it folks will be, the less fear they will have, and the more accepting they become. Yes, it makes the antis yell louder, but the louder they yell, the more we know things are improving. That's how I look at it, anyway.
