As someone who has curated ... hell, countless exhibitions, I would strongly recommend you reach out to the curator or jurists and ask what they're looking for. The artists who did that for shows I curated were always given much stronger consideration. Even when we said "historic buildings" and they sent "tigers in space", instead. Ask. Trust me. They appreciate it.
