The word "holiday" can be traced back to its Old English roots where it was spelled "hælig day", or "holy day" and it meant any of a number of observed Judeo-Christian holy days such as Holy Innocent's Day, Easter, Lent, and yes – Christmas.
So if you are a Christian and you're mad at someone for saying "Happy Holidays" because you somehow think that phrase removes mention of the Judeo-Christian celebration of Christmas, you are mad for literally the dumbest of all possible reasons.
