I miss cheat codes in games. I miss the alternative kinds of play they enabled, the sense of ownership, and the raw experimentation possible from a developer console.

I'm doing what I'm doing in no small part thanks to hacking on things like Jedi Knight as a kid. And that started with the cheat codes.

It's too bad most gamers today will miss this experience.
