Lesson: Dell 5414 "Rugged" laptop is not-so-rugged, as it has no water ingress rating. (at most, it can handle a coffee or water spill onto the keyboard, nothing more). There's a fan on the bottom of the case and the doors are not waterproof. Just hot-swapped out everything into a new eBay unit (~$65), because water ingress from a plumbing disaster in my house (through the fan on the underside) caused batteries to not charge. Will likely keep an eye at a Toughpad/Toughbook for outdoor ham radio operations. #rugged #computers #toughbook
