Sorry to hear! IIRC, I followed [these instructions](
https://nixos.wiki/wiki/NixOS_Installation_Guide) to the letter, and got it installed. The installer doesn't do any partitioning, had to do all that manually from a command-line, so it's a bit more involved than most other distros (though I've only had experience with Raspbian OS, Ubuntu, and NixOS).
