States can make up any felonies they want, you know that right? They've been doing that forever, the whole war on drugs was built on that. Having too much marijuana is still a felony in most states. It's a meaningless word, it's a label that the state puts on people it doesn't want to have rights. It's a particularly bad one because it means you can't vote anymore too. It's an extra special label that means you not only have to go to prison, you're tagged for the rest of your life.

Using this word so carelessly and with zero awareness of its purpose is incredibly irresponsible. Take two seconds to think about why governments call people felons. Think about who, in general, they call felons. Do you really want to be part of this particular theatrical performance? Do you want to be learning these lines?
