There are 5 MCs in book 2. All of them have changeable dreams (not all on page).
Jaslan & Francis are processing (recovering from) what happens in book one. Their nightmares are unforgiving, understandably.
Other things cause Jaslan's dreams to change, although they're book 2 spoilers.
Jack's dreams are also shifty, for different (spoilery) reasons.
Serge & Yara have dreams relating to Jaslan & Francis. That's all I'll say. 🤐
