If a large open source project wanted to implement useful, on-device, ML-powered features to make it genuinely better, would you be intrigued? Excited? Sad? Angry? Indifferent? And why?
How would they communicate what they're doing without being vilified for “doing AI”? Are there certain approaches to ML they should avoid?
