If democracies would adopt blockchain voting, this would enable them to point to an objective reason why not to recognize authoritarian regimes that organise masquerade ballots (Venezuela, Russia, china, the DRC, the list of cases is ample enough). But the challenge is to educate the Western population first, an unlikely project with Elon musk in charge.
