There's been something nagging me about Czechs for the last few years that I really need to vent out. (I know, NAXALT and all, and honestly, if you're one of my few Czech mutuals reading this, it's probably not about you.)

In a nutshell, I'm really annoyed and disappointed with how Czechs are now jumping on almost every major globohomo op, and what's worse, with full enthusiasm. Disappointed because at least before 2020, I saw them as somewhat cynical and not fully trusting of western structures and trends - even despite their perverted and liberal/libertarian tendencies, and maybe because of them. They mostly rejected BLM, the insanity of modern feminism and the whole gay smorgasbord, which I saw as a good sign.

The first year of COVID comes to pass and bit by bit, they start getting more and more hysterical, and eventually most of them enthusiastically accept merciless vax enforcement. For a few months I couldn't even enter school premises without getting swabbed in testing centers twice a week, and then they artificially hike up the price of those tests to "encourage" you to get the jab. (Yes, this part is personal.)

And then the war on Ukraine kicks off and I watch them switch to full warmonger mode, with many of them straight up calling for the nuclear destruction of Russia. It's been two years and I still see them soyjacking about русскый боенный корабль иди нахуй. Almost as if you turned NAFO into a country.

Same thing with Israel now, and here it's especially the "based" right wing that disappoints me so much. You'd expect them to know better, and instead you get basically American conservatives stuck in 2004 with their "war on terror", as if they haven't learned anything at all in the last 20 years. Presidential elections show up and they elect an unapologetic NATO general as their president, who is now openly pushing for adopting the Euro and most of them start cheering on him for it.
(To be fair here, Slovakia did adopt the Euro in 2008 already, because naturally we saw it as a purely economic opportunity. Since then, the EU has openly shown its true colors, and even when they protest green economy and the phaseout of normal cars, and see how Germany is going down the shitter, they're somehow fine with throwing away their monetary controls and giving them the remaining scraps of their sovereignity. It's frustrating to watch.)

I guess the whole point is that I don't recognize the "brotherly" people of the country I went to study and work in 7 years ago. It might have been different once, but now I just don't feel like I fit in here. I don't give a fuck about the marginally higher standard of living, and even that looks like it won't last for long. If home is where the heart is, it's definitely not here.
