I've spent too many years wearing a suit – though age related grumpiness means that I don't care any more. I'm sat in the office now, over lunch, in a battered old hoodie and cargo trousers.
We are forced into these uniforms by the dead hand of governmental and social control, enforced by carrots of promotion to those who conform, and sticks of censure to those who do not.
