Ultimately, my opinion on this is really of no consequence.
People will adopt the rhetorical strategies that make the most sense for them, and for each strategy there are people for whom that strategy is the best convincer.
One of the things that genuinely worries me though, is that so many people seem to instinctively pivot to "it can't possibly be that bad", when presented with the reality of these matters. And I'm specifically not talking about woke true believers, but the regular people who haven't really paid much attention, because they have lives to run. One of my friends for example, when I presented her with the Kiera Bell case, went "well I'm *sure* they give councelling and therapy before they suggest surgeries and hormones...". The reality of the matter was so obviously appalling to her, that she automatically dismissed it as implausible. She did get awfully quiet though, when I explained the reality of no-gatekeeping gender medicine.
If we can't get the well-meaning normies to realise what's at stake, because they assume the world is a reasonable place, I'm afraid stopping this nonsense in time will be extremely difficult.
