It's really telling how little trust people have of developers.

Ignoring the "you ruined it" anger: I provide old versions too. Right on the website. I even provide downgrade instructions in the FAQ if you dislike an update.
It's sad users don't look, but I think the real sadness is that users don't think to look because they expect devs to always force things they don't want upon them. Users feel powerless.
