Second, did you read the article about taxes in the UK that you linked to? As with the USA, the effective tax rate of the top is much lower than those just below them and that pulls the percentage of total revenue paid by "the rich" up from what it would be. In any case, if you're making more than 90% of the citizens, you should be paying a much higher rate because you're benefitting much more.
