I knew a midwit in high school who planned to do the military grift and was dead set on the Marines. When I asked him why he wasn't going to do the smart thing and join the Air Force he said it was because he "wanted to be the smartest guy in the room all the time". Sometimes I wonder how that ended up working out for him.
