PSA: Have you heard of a thing called PsyPACT? It's a system that allows for participating psychologists to see people across state lines so long as each person lives in a state shaded in blue on the map linked below.

Why is this important to know about? Because access to mental health care is shit in the U.S., especially if you're looking for specialized services or if you live in a less populated state that has like 7 therapists total.

A silver lining of the COVID pandemic is that most private health insurance and Medicare covers tele-health visits for therapy. This likely won't work for Medicaid, unfortunately. At least I don't think it will, don't quote me on that.

There are lots of therapist directories out there, including many that focus on connecting people with therapists who are more likely to be a good fit so you can search in your area but also in those blue states. You want to find clinical psychologists, because as of right now those are the only clinicians who can participate in PsyPACT. I'm hoping social work and master's level counseling gets something similar going.

I don't know what's going on in the 8 holdouts, but hopefully they get on board soon.
