I'm not TOO upset by some of the gutting of federal institutions because many of them were out and out harmful to the world at large or wasteful patronage exercises for bizarre causes, but many will have horrible consequences we'll feel for decades. I can't describe what's happening here other than lunacy or the flailings of a dying empire. It's plutocratic looting, not fascism. Fascism views the state and its people as a singular unit. These guys are acting like madmen CEOs thinking they can "fire" their people and like the rest of the world are competitors to bury. I firmly believe Trump is senile and Musk is a fox being given all you can eat access to the henhouse. I don't know how it's going to end in two years when Democrats take Congress, but it won't be great. I also have no faith in them learning anything from last November and how their insistence on selling out the working class in the name of identity politics is killing them so we either get to vote for plutocracy, or plutocracy with a glass ceiling for those of us on the bottom of the progressive stack.
