It's not a compromise for me. I'm built different.
My entire life I've been a loner. I love being in my mind, pursuing my own adventures. My mom tells stories of this from the time I was a toddler. I've always worked alone.
My life philosophy: No People, No Problems
I've found that most of my truths are opposite of common beliefs. Things like, "nothing has meaning until you share it with someone" never held true for me at all.
I'll take a homestead full of goats, cows, chickens, and of course my trusty German Shepherd instead of people every time. I'm 53 years old, I lived alone almost my entire life, never married, no kids, and I've always been truly happy with my life.
My favorite human interactions are casual conversations with strangers, from philosophy to religion, from weather to sports. I also love the energy of large crowds.
When the conversations and crowds die down, I return to my peaceful home, alone in my sanctuary, safe and happy.
I don't know why this rings true for me, but it always has. I embrace it.
