I'm interested in dipping my toe in South America.
But South America has it's own problems. Political instability, turbulence, guerillas, high crime, high homicide.
I think there no shortage of people in South America who'd be willing to rip off a foreigner that's new there.
I do realise there are many South American countries that have improved a lot, but...I don't know...in South America sometimes it often looks like things are improving and then suddenly...collapse! Turmoil!
Look at Brazil...look at Ecuador...
You said yourself there's alot of South Americans leaving South America and heading to Europe
If I was a South American citizen I'd be bullish on South America, but if you leave the EU, you're going from somewhere you're a citizen to somewhere that you're not.
I don't think there's anywhere without BS. The solution is geographic diversification. Spend a little time in multiple countries (and maybe some time on a boat as well)
