Honestly I don't care that dudes wanna make some money on their work, but how can anyone live like they do? I don't see how you can possibly say you love writing when you treat it as a merciless game of min-maxing and market research. It comes through in the writing, too, so much of it is so incredibly generic the only way you can tell which book it's from is the names of the characters. It's depressingly soulless, and any attempt to criticize that mindset on places like RR gets you mobbed by mindless retards claiming you just want authors to starve to death or something.
