Not sure there's all that much cause for celebration. Sure, it's good that the French didn't succumb to outright fascism, but Melenchon has a history of pro-putin, anti-NATO, thus anti European security opinions. Nor does it seem to me there'll be much chance for a cooperative government. The French model requires that the President, the Prime Minister and the Parliament agree on something, otherwise nothing works.
