am sensitive to noise but i didn’t bother with earphones because i thought it was a minor inconvenience and i’d just put up with it. since i’ve started to seriously consider i might be #actuallyautistic i’ve started to put on noise-cancelling earphones on the train, and wow it makes such a difference. i never thought it is impt to conserve energy at every opportunity, esp when it seems innocuous and mundane. but bit by bit it drains and before i know it am exhausted “for no reason”.
