Tastiness of the plants in my yard, rated by the Japanese Beetles munching on everything:
1. Pussywillow. 10/10, eat every leaf.
2. Echinacea, but just the petals of the flowers. Maybe a nibble on one leaf.
3. Grapes, but only the new leaves.
4. Potatoes? Sort of ambivalent about this one but they’re near the grapes.
5. Zinnia. Maybe less tasty but super easy to hide in.
6. Sunflower - this is a ‘sometimes’ meal because it’s easy to be seen and picked off by predators (or the gardeness)
