He couldn’t say otherwise, given his exposure. However, I wouldn’t consider him a definitive role model—nor anyone, really. I agree that if you simply HODL, you wouldn’t create a taxable event.
That said, the point of Bitcoin goes beyond avoiding taxes or making gains. It’s fundamentally about reclaiming freedom from those who demand declarations and control. With all due respect, trading the freedom Bitcoin offers for the illusion of freedom outside a prison cell feels contradictory—like stepping into a different kind of prison.
