Blue Sky is getting sizeable congregations of academics and journalists from peak Twitter. It even feels a bit like early Twitter. But I'd be suprised if that place fully opens, or survives more than a few months past a general opening, or survives the planned federation.
A lot of what makes it frictionless and easy now is the invite-only model keeping out the trolls, and the smooth operation within a single instance. The future trajectory seems dubious.
