npub1g0tuf634rz4suczwj7kgnecr6cyt0eu9xmp3sp0fku68mqehq4msp3tvm4 (npub1g0t…tvm4) Could be, but I'm always very suspicious of any conjecture that suggests they have a plan beyond 'making it to the end of the week intact'. The days of the Tory front bench being full of devious, cunning political thinkers is long past.

I feel there's a significant element of ignorance and incompetence here, that they don't have anyone left who has any genuine understanding of it beyond classical, simplistic demand-side inflation models.

But they're also likely averse to listening to any experts, because any suggestion to address supply-side inflation is likely to be ideologically problematic for much of the Parliamentary party, and certainly unacceptable to many of their important supporters/donors.
