It's astounding to me how overlooked financial observability is as a tool to drive reasoned technical decisions and ground tradeoffs.

Seriously, it's wild. One of the problems that I see happening a lot is conflicting methods of introducing incentives and pressure to drive performance. While they might be inevitable, you need something to reconcile that, or you're going to create a massive mess to clean up later.

Observability is a fantastic way to build this sort of reconciliation ability.
