Today is my birthday, and I am just really freaking sad. If anybody out there wants to share photos of your companion animals or anything cool you’ve made or grown, I would be delighted to see them. (I keep thinking this is the first birthday ever when I haven’t celebrated, but that’s not true: last year we were just so awash in a crisis of grief that it felt almost outside reality.)
