People also thought Lenin, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc. would provide them with the only path out. Most people, especially Americans, are just really lacking knowledge of history. Rank choice voting is actually on the ballot this year in Colorado. We need that nationally, or elections are pointless from now on.
