i think some people misunderstand what disability solidarity is. it's not being able to relate to every other disabled person. basing solidarity and camaraderie on shared experiences or needs will inevitably leave some disabled people in the dust. because all our disabled experiences are different.
disability solidarity is making sure that someone who needs a seat gets it even if you have to tell a stranger to get up. it's making sure that allergens are accounted for when you go somewhere even if you can eat everything yourself. it's resolutely standing up against faceism (discrimination against facial differences) even if you have no facial difference yourself. it's treating yourself and other disabled people as a collective who will stand up for each other even when nobody else will. it's helping and being helped.
now the last thing i'm going to do is to tell people to do things beyond their means. but i think if you read this, really consider how much you have even contemplated the needs of a disabled person with radically different issues than yourself
