I keep getting queries about the #Google Fold and again I want to emphasize that I haven't even seen one in person so my ability to answer questions about this device even semi-intelligently is limited at this time. But I'll do what I can.
One common question is about the lack of stylus support, unlike some Samsung folding phones.
I have a Samsung tablet and phone (both years old) that support styluses (aka styli) and while they're occasionally useful I find in practice that I rarely use them (I'm not an artist, for example). I'm unconvinced that they're even practical without storage for them on-device, and cases take up even more room and tend to limit functionality. I assume a passive stylus would work on the closed face of the Fold which is conventional glass, if you really need one.
My big take from afar about the Fold is that I really do like the aspect ratio both closed and open. The narrow closed and portrait open default modes of the Samsungs are annoying, as is their bloatware.
Given that when it comes to these devices you really have to choose between iOS and Android, and I don't (and never have) done Apple, I'm pleased by the Fold from a distance, and if I ever have an opportunity to actually use one I'll review and report in more detail in my usual venues. Thanks. -L
