I have a personal stake on this as I cannot overstate how biking affected my personal freedoms for the better; I have biked through places I'd think twice before walking through. I've biked through at all times of the day too and it does make a difference (although it doesn't solve any actual personal safety concerns! I am aware my context is not universal!). You can say it has its limitations and it's not a solution that works for everybody, but saying biking is only for able-bodied does everyone a disservice
