I'm beginning my push to get more things out of the browser. No, not "apps" ala phones ("lock-in") but IP ports, eg email into Thunderbird.
I happily pay for DI.fm (streaming music) but alas, it seems locked into the browser for money/auth reasons.
If I could, the browser would be half way to browsers in say 2005. Not nostalgia, or 'was better then', but for bloat and distraction.
The "Amish" cliche of putting the telephone out in a little house of it's own has the seed of a good idea.
Multi-function programs kinda suck.
