Now Jesus does give us a public prayer as an example of how to pray. It's known as the "Lords Prayer."

So I think by investigating this and researching the Greek texts we find out that it's not just public but humble prayer that is to be explored as, "I'm not a high priest conjuring the great God to do this but I am humbly asking Our Father."

MAT 6.9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

MAT 6.10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

MAT 6.11 Give us this day our daily bread.

MAT 6.12 And forgive us our debts, as *  we forgive our debtors.

MAT 6.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

-- KJV (King James Version)

My reason here is that criticizing Christianity without studying the foundational texts is just click baiting, gas lighting and also unproductive. My own criticism was based on my thinking I knew what was in the Bible because I "heard it all already."

Having read it now several times and finally reading the comparative Hebrew and Greek with a significant background in Indo-European Sanskrit my mind is blowing up with how amazing the language is and my own ignorance while still having the impulse and desire to pray has led me full circle to Christ.
