Trump is subjecting himself to vicious persecution in the courts when he could have avoided such torment simply by not running. Is he doing this to protect the secrecy of a shadow government? Or is it more likely that he is doing so to show that he himself is not above the Rule of Law, even when the processes are initiated by whackadoodles? Is he showing the nation that ultimately he has confidence in the slow but find grinding of the wheels of Justice? I think so.
