Really struggling withJohn Ganz’s “When The Clock Broke”, about the roots of today’s politics in the early 90s, including David Duke, Pat Buchanan, and Rush Limbaugh. It is a great read, which is why I’m struggling with it—the throughline he lays out is *so* painfully clear.
And the ultimate solution to the problem then (Bill Clinton hammering a bad economy) is not going to save us this year. So… yeah, dunno, it’s mostly making me angry and sad.
